I believe that artists have to have a special perception of their world. The final step of art is always self-expression – but before this realm can be reached, the artist must learn and refine his techniques. He has to be able to observe the nuances and process them in his mind in order to replicate them to a respectable degree. Just like the calculated lines drawn, the definite numbers, and the thorough analysis of the mugshot in the painting, an artist has to pick out every detail, look for perfections, symmetry, and balance in order to elevate his works.
