In a Sea of People

When working on this piece I was heavily influenced by my thoughts surrounding climate change and overpopulation, and how we humans have turned a blind eye to our impact on the world around us. Drawing inspiration from the popular “Where’s Waldo?” illustrations, I wanted to give a twist to the usual upbeat atmosphere to give a bleaker vibe to the bustling and crowded composition. Through this portrait, I hope that people can see past the goofy grin and think more about the impact we have on our environment.
