Fond Memories of My Grandma and her “Curry Rice”
Dexter Yeo Shih Tong | 4H 2015 | Acrylic on canvas
Times files so do people age. My grandma was a vital character in my formative years and her presence remains as a pillar of support for me in the stressful lifestyle I lead. Her knees may buckle, her steps becoming ever more precarious, but cooking for me and my family was something she persisted even in the ripe old age of 87. I would like to devote this work to document her hobbies and culinary skills through acrylic paintings and pencil drawings, which culminates in this painting of my Grandma cooking in her stall.
